Latest days out and meetings
August Memorial walk.
Members set out from the Abbey Car Park and walked through the Abbey gardens along the path beside the river. To some of us this was a new area of the river bank. The weather was beautiful. Lunch was at The Lord Hill Hotel
September 15th -Flaxmill visit. A group were given a guided tour by a member of the Friends of the Flaxmill and who is also a Cickers member. Hard hats and high vis jackets were necessary for this very interesting visit.
The September meeting was the annual Harvest Festival. As usual the harvest table was soon full of goodies. These were auctioned by Mike Tomley who made sure that we dug deep into our pockets to make this a great evening and a good financial success.
Finally the sad news that The Lord Hill Hotel is to be sold for housing and will close in January 2020 has caused a headache for your committee. We needed to find a new venue for our meetings. After looking at different venues we have been offered the function room at The Wild Pig. ( known by many as The Brooklands) off Meole Brace Island SY3 9JT. Our first meeting will be on January 16th 2020
