John Williams 21st Memorial Walk
The origins of this walk began when the late John Williams was pushed in his wheelchair by some of the founder members. The walk started in the Quarry and continued via Becks fields into Longden Column and the final leg via a small very overgrown footpath to The Castle walk and back to the Quarry Park. It was a very wet day but with dogged determination it was completed.
Sunday 5th August 2018 members of Cickers (some who had been on the first walk) met at St Julian’s Friars to start this annual walk. The weather was very hot and it was agreed that a shorter walk would be necessary. A short break was taken in The Dingle which was beautiful and ready for The Annual Flower Show.
Lunch was taken at The Dun Cow and enjoyed by 27 members.
